Breast Augmentation + Lift San Diego*

Procedure Details

34 year old mother of two underwent breast surgery to improve the overall appearance of her breasts. Patient was unhappy with the size, shape and overall droopiness of her breasts after having children. The size of her areolas was also a concern, as they were hard to conceal in a bathing suit. A Lollipop Lift(Mastopexy) and Breast Augmentation with highly cohesive silicone breast implants was performed. Post operative photos taken nine months after surgery.

Types of Breast Lifts

There are several different variations of Breast Lift (Mastopexy) that can be performed depending on patients needs, preferences, and expectations.

Anchor Mastopexy- Dramatic re-shaping to correct extensive sagging. Incision resemble that of an anchor, around the areola, vertical from areola to crease, and along inframammary crease. Dr. Laverson no longer performs this procedure because he believes it adds excessive unnecessary scars on the breast without any advantage over the "lollipop" (circumvertical) technique.

Lollipop Mastopexy- Commonly applied for significant lifting and re-shaping sagging breasts.  Closure resembles a lollipop, creating a scar around the areola and vertically down from the bottom of the areaola to the bottom crease of the breast ("circumvertical" pattern.

Donut Mastopexy- Mild descent of nipple-areola complex and breast sagging.  Commonly incorporated with Breast Augmentation, where only mild lift is needed. Breast skin tightened in the pattern of a doughnut, around the areola.  Scar restricted to a circle at the outer margin of the round areola.  Also called an areola mastopexy, areolapexy, or Benelli mastopexy.

Crescent Lift- Minimal Sagging, commonly done in conjunction with Breast Augmentation.  Incisions resemble that of a crescent moon, around top half of the areola.
